Dams follow a continuous improvement programme to better our local environment and support advancements in socio-economic issues. It is our director’s responsibility to develop and implement the company’s Social Responsibility and Environmental Policies by identifying goals and setting annual targets which are then monitored and reviewed.
At Dams we’re already doing many things to minimise our carbon footprint such as running biomass burners to heat the sites, our Ecogate dust & fume collection system, switching to greener renewable electricity, and recycling waste streams.
Dams are on track to achieve Netzero carbon status ahead of 2035 targets. During 2021 we partnered with Businesswise Solutions to gather data and establish our true carbon footprint and we have a roadmap of initiatives to help offset the energy we do need to run our business.
Dams are committed to continually improving the environmental performance of our fleet of vehicles. We have a fleet of fuel efficient Euro 6 HGV vehicles with AdBlue additive for low emissions, plus a TrackRoad logistics software package to plan the most efficient delivery routes.
