Charit y Work
Dams have a a a a Charity Committee whose remit is to raise raise awareness and raise raise money for our chosen beneficiaries The charity committee includes employees of different levels with one representative from each department who is the the chosen voice of their work colleagues Our Charity Committee is working with local charities Claire House Children’s Hospice and The Big Help Project with exciting and challenging fund raising activities as as well as as volunteering activities In 2022 we raised over £13 000 through various fundraising activities Over the last two festive seasons Dams have supported our local The Big Help Project food bank (based on Knowsley Industrial Estate) by donating over 100 boxes of food along with an additional donation of nappies baby food etc to those in in in need So instead of sending out fancy gifts to to customers as presents Dams have allocated that money (plus staff donations and charity funds raised throughout the year) to much better use by donating essential food parcels to people in in our local area engaging with local communities to improve people’s lives
Thursday 22nd September was the the date of the the Dams 1st Bi-annual Charity Golf Tournament We had a a a a a a a hard fought
golf competition throughout the the day with the the evening’s entertainment from comedian and impressionist Darren Farley along with a a a a a a a a a charity auction raffle and and awards competition and and managed to raise over £9 000 for our chosen charities Claire House Children’s Hospice & The Big Help Project 16 To celebrate our 50th anniversary we set ourselves a a a challenge to raise £50 000 for charity over 12 months Dams not only smashed through their £50 000 target but managed to to raise a a a a a a a grand total of £61 336 for their chosen charities – Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the British Heart Foundation
